Review Time – Café O

There are numerous restaurants alongside JBR, and Café O is another addition to the block. When you are on JBR walk, this restaurant is right opposite the Reel Cinemas. We walked along the whole JBR and finally decided to try this cafe. The interior is really nice with color themes of red, blue, white and yellow. Since the weather was cool and windy, so we sat outside.

Their menu is very interesting. Cafe O is a Asian fusion restaurant and you’ll find different cuisines such as Labanese, American, Indian, Japanese and Pan Asian. So, if you want to go to a place that serves all kinds of cuisines, then this place is a must try.

We ordered two main courses which included a Café O Grill Platter with Shish Taouk, Lamb Chops, Beef Kofta, Lahem Mashwi served with hummus and fries. I wanted to order something with crispy beef, so I tried their Mongolian Beef with steamed rice. I must say that both dishes were delectable. Mongolian beef was crisp and juicy which had a very unique flavor of sauces, spring onion, tomatoes and capsicum. The grill platter also had a perfect blend of flavor and spices. The food portions are big, so sharing is recommended. One thing I would like to mention is that the serving size of steamed rice was very small, not sufficient for a single serving. If you’re a rice lover, then you have to order an additional serving for sure. They have a variety of items for cocktails and desserts, but we were too full to order any. Will definitely try their starters and desserts next time.

My overall experience was wonderful! Great prices for the quality of food, good ambience and humble staff. This place is amazing for late night hangouts coz it is open till 3 a.m. I would definitely recommend it to you 🙂
